What We Know

Rufi Thorpe's beloved novel has made it to Apple TV+ — and the casting alone makes this one worth watching. Elle Fanning plays Margo Millet, a 20-year-old single mother who, after getting pregnant by her English professor and landing on the verge of eviction, turns to OnlyFans to survive. When her estranged father Jinx (Nick Offerman), a former pro wrestler, shows up on her doorstep, Margo strikes a deal — childcare in exchange for a place to stay — and ends up adapting his wrestling wisdom into an unlikely content strategy. Michelle Pfeiffer rounds out the central trio as Shyanne, Margo's mother and former Hooters waitress.

Developed by David E. Kelley and directed by Dearbhla Walsh and Nicole Holofcener, the series has drawn strong early reviews. IGN and Roger Ebert's site praised the performances — Fanning in particular — calling it heartwarming, funny, and surprisingly earnest. Variety noted occasional pacing issues, but the critical consensus is clear: this one has heart. Three episodes are available now on Apple TV+, with weekly releases to follow.
