What We Know
Practical Magic 2 picks up twenty-five years after the original film, catching back up with the Owens family as an old secret about their history resurfaces. When Sally's daughter Kylie starts pulling on that thread, she uncovers powers of her own — and drags three generations of Owens women into a fight to finally break the curse that's followed their family for centuries. The story sends them from their home in Massachusetts across the Atlantic to the UK, chasing down the roots of where their magic actually began.
And now, that story is arriving a week ahead of schedule — a small but welcome bit of good news in a release calendar that usually moves the other direction.

About the Book
The film draws from The Book of Magic, Alice Hoffman's closing chapter in the Practical Magic series. The story opens with Aunt Jet realizing her time is short, setting off a race against the centuries-old Owens curse. Three generations of the family, along with a long-lost brother, travel from Paris to London to the English countryside where their ancestor Maria Owens first practiced her craft — each of them uncovering secrets about love and magic that had been kept from them. The novel holds a 4.14 average on Goodreads and was a finalist for the site's 2021 Readers' Favorite Fantasy award.
