Our Take

McFadden continues to prove why she's a master of psychological suspense with this claustrophobic survival thriller that keeps you guessing at every turn. The premise might sound familiar—plane crash survivors in the wilderness—but McFadden transforms it into something fresh and utterly compelling through sharp characterization and relentlessly mounting tension. What elevates The Crash above similar thrillers is how skillfully the author peels back layers of deception while simultaneously ratcheting up the stakes. McFadden has crafted a perfect weekend read—unputdownable, cleverly plotted, and guaranteed to leave you suspicious of everyone until the final shocking reveal.
