Josh Malerman wrote Bird Box, one of the most effective horror novels of the last decade. Incidents Around the House may be even more disturbing — a story told entirely through the eyes of eight-year-old Bela, who has been asked the same question every day by an entity she calls Other Mommy: "Can I go inside your heart?" When Other Mommy grows tired of waiting for an answer, the horror begins. Universal originally set the film for May 2026 before moving it to October 9th, and the decision to align it with Halloween season was clearly deliberate. Rob Savage, who proved himself one of the most inventive horror directors working today with Host and The Boogeyman, directs. James Wan produces through Atomic Monster alongside Blumhouse — two of the most reliable names in horror. Jessica Chastain leads.
